FREE LOFI ODDITY from Aberrant DSP

Aberrant DSP has released a new free plugin, Lofi Oddity. It’s a simple 4 knob lofi effect with input gain, output gain and mix. A very simple plugin, but quite cute and fun and sounds good too.

Corruption is probably my favorite control, the first half of the knob is a sample rate reduction control, then it fades into a glitching stutter effect for some crazy digital madness. The next control has some weird alien language, it seems to be a chorus/ reverb. Tape adds warble and grit, definitely a bit more rumble than other Tape emulation controls, almost as though the tape has been chewed up by a creature. And Comp is a pretty severe compressor, almost clipping to some degree. This is definitely a plugin for crushing audio. THere’s not a lot else to say about it, but I do love the cute animations per control, especially the pixelated shapes on Corruption.
